Almondsbury FC is piloting an innovative programme this season which will see Almondsbury and the University of the West of the England come together to engage promising amateur footballers in high standard 11 a side football.

Almondsbury UWE FC currently play in the Western League Div 1 and are entering the FA Vase Competition for the first time this season.
Almondsbury were formed in 1969 as Patchway North End. In 1971 the club changed its name to Patchway Old Boys and played in the Bristol Suburban League. In 1989 Almondsbury moved to its present home 'The Field' and became Almondsbury FC. In 2000-2001 Almondsbury won the Bristol Suburban League and gained promotion to the Gloucestershire County League. In 2004, they were crowned Champions of the Gloucestershire County league and gained promotion to the Western Football League
